After using an Ethernet cord for the first time in 10 years to receive internet at the clinic today, Kelly and I headed out into the community with the wheelchair tech guys to make repairs and adjustments to kids wheelchairs. The field visit was to BCC (Building Caring Community) which is a Lutheran church in the community that provides child care during the day for children with disabilities. There were approx 10 kids at BCC and the majority of them had cerebral palsy. Of the 10 kids we made changes to 5 different chairs. It was a fascinating and fun experience to see how wheelchairs are made and repaired with very little material. The tech guys are very knowledgable and definitely resourceful!
After clinic, Kelly and I walked to a nearby restaurant at the Neneu Hotel for dinner and an adult beverage. We had our first Tanzanian beer which was refreshing and tasty, as well as a wonderful dinner consisting of a chicken sandwich and chips (french fries)!
Just thought I would add a picture of one of our three house pets! If anyone has a clever name for him we are open to suggestions :)
